LISSA’S: Just Another Show of Favoritism at Sherman Wal-Mart

Wal-Mart has a special promotion going on with Essence Magazine through the month of February to celebrate Black History Month. They have ads in magazines, on television, and through the store talking about this.

The materials they were going to sell was to be set-up on a large cardboard display in the store. And for this store, there was a directive that it must be put out by Regional Supervisor John Murphy.

In an attempt to spend more time with a boyfriend, one of the employees got an assistant manager's approval (without realizing what they were doing) to destroy the Black History Month display without finding out what the display was for.

The following Monday, the instruction came down to put out the display, and it was discovered that it was destroyed. The message of the display's destruction went from the store to the Regional level for both Wal-Mart and the company responsible for the display. And all was forgiven, nothing happened, not even a slap on the wrist.

Once again, showing, if you are liked and accidentally do something, it is overlooked. But if you are not liked, one accident gets you terminated.... Favoritism at it's finest.
