LISSA’S: Shareholder’s Attack!

At Wal-Mart Stores 2007 annual meeting in Fayetteville, Arkansas, many shareholders attacked Wal-Mart over sagging stock price. "In 2000, Wal-Mart's stock price was $60. Now it's $47," the president of the National Legal and Policy Center attacked. Others, including Sister Susan Mica, presented a shareholder proposal requiring Wal-Mart to report the gap between senior executive compensation and its lowest-paid workers. "In 2006, Wal-Mart's CEO compensation was 600 times the average pay of a Wal-Mart U.S. employee. From our perspective, this is a scandal," Mica said.
