BILL'S: The Weather Man

Last Night Lissa and I were watching Nicholas Cage's "The Weather Man". I don't know if it is just inappropriate, or just the fact that it was funny about this man's daughter. This movie really started tickling me when Cage's character, David Spritz and his father Robert Spritzel, played my Michael Caine, are having a discussion about David's daughter, Shelly's clothes......

Dave Spritz: Why are you here, anyway?
Robert Spritzel: I came to talk to Noreen about an issue concerning Shelly.
Dave Spritz: Well, you can talk to me. I'm her parent, too. So? What?
Robert Spritzel: Shelly dresses in clothing not appropriate for her... clinging stuff.
Dave Spritz: All kids wear... Dad, it's a different generation.
Robert Spritzel: They call her camel toe.
Dave Spritz: What?
Robert Spritzel: Are you aware of that?
Dave Spritz: What?
Robert Spritzel: That her colleagues call her camel toe.
Dave Spritz: What are you talking about?
Robert Spritzel: It means the crease in her vagina that they can discern through her clothing. Dave Spritz: What?
Robert Spritzel: Camel toe

First of all, Michael Caine plays a very dry and strict person in this movie, and to hear him describe a camel toe almost threw me out of bed.

But later in the movie, David, Robert and Shelly go to New York, and David takes Shelly to get some new clothes at a fancy clothing shop. All is well until she comes out of the dressing room, David looks at her and his eyes pop wide and the image of his daughter is replaced with a real camel toe with this wonderful camel grunt in the background.

I do not know if it was the lack of sleep or the image just being that funny, but I could not stop laughing. We had to rewind the next scene many times to hear the conversation between the father and daughter, I could not sit still because my chest was hurting from laughing so hard. I had to get up and leave the room, get a drink, go to the bathroom and completely block the vision before being able to continue the movie.

A good movie with some very classic moments. At times you couldn't figure out if this was a comedy or a tragedy or vice versa. Didn't really care for the ending, but I think it was the point they were trying to make. Not all decisions come out the way you want.
