These are a couple of questions from my friend "Moondog". Thought I'd answer them and re-post them for everyone that's curious...
Did you make it home?
No, we are still in Temple Texas... I've come to realize that I hate this town as much as Texoma. You could call this city a mirror image of Denison.. people included.
Is the apartment still there?
As far as I know it is still there. My youngest sister-in-law went back to see all of the damages and she drove by the apartments and said that the building looked okay, just some tree limbs and fence was down.
Did WalMart get blown away and carried out to sea?
No, not blown away nor carried out to sea, but Bill did get a phone call saying that all of the sky lights busted out and the store was standing in water. There is no set date for returning yet. I can't get ahold of anyone at my job. I was wondering if my job sustained damage since it has a large sky light in the center of the ceiling and is right across the parking lot as Wal Mart.
I saw your mom at wallyworld, she said you had to evacuate, and anyway, let me know the whole story
My in-laws second house that we escaped to in Temple lost its air conditioner. So now we sit in the HOT house waiting to go back to Houston. We left Thursday afternoon. Here it is, Sunday afternoon and we're still not 100% sure when we can return. Our city still has no electricity and no clean water.
But in all of this IKE disaster, it is still 100% better than Texoma... no regrets at all!
